People think that as a yoga instructor, I have some great flexibility or life-long talent for yoga. Part of me is giddy they have that opinion. The reality is that my body, like most women, has changed alongside my life’s experiences and that’s why I’m so thankful yoga is a practice and not a destination.
In college, my body collected an 65 extra pounds. I shed the extra on my way to getting divorced the first time. My first pregnancy took me up that same 65 lbs, losing only 30 before getting pregnant with my second child (and then third). Through all of it, I was always me.
The hardest part of bringing my body back in line with my mind was starting.
